Dutche fort and Victoria Bell tower Negombo

Story

Negombo Dutch Fort is a historic fort originally built by the Portuguese and later rebuilt by the Dutch during the colonial period in Sri Lanka. The fort was used to protect the coastal trade routes and control important economic activities such as cinnamon trading. Today, only parts of the original structure remain, but it still represents the colonial history and European influence in Negombo.

Victoria Bell Tower is a historic clock tower built during the British colonial era to commemorate Queen Victoria. The bell tower is an important landmark in Negombo and reflects the architectural style and historical influence of the British period in Sri Lanka. Both sites help visitors understand the rich colonial heritage and cultural history of Negombo.
