Story
Jaffna Fort is one of the largest and best-preserved colonial forts in Sri Lanka. Originally built by the Portuguese in the 17th century and later expanded by the Dutch, the fort was used for military defense and controlling trade in the northern region.
The fort is known for its strong stone walls, historic architecture, and scenic location near the Jaffna Lagoon. It is an important historical landmark that reflects the colonial history, cultural heritage, and strategic importance of Jaffna during the Portuguese and Dutch periods.
